| P. Brent Trottier Middle School students visit the U.S. Marine Corps War Memorial's world-famous statue during their visit to Washington D.C. The Statue is based on the iconic photograph taken by Associated Press photographer Joe Rosenthal, which depicts the six soldiers who raised the second American flag at Iwo Jima in the Japanese Volcano Islands on February 23, 1945, signifying the conclusion of the American campaign in the Pacific during World War II. Dear Parent(s) and Guardian(s), I want to take a moment to thank all veterans in the communities of Northborough and Southborough for their service and sacrifice to our country. Veterans Day holds special meaning for me personally, as I reflect on members of my own family who served. My grandfather was part of the 4th Marine Regiment and served aboard the USS Ozark during World War II, and my father served as a Military Police Officer in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Their service, and that of all veterans, reminds us of the courage, dedication, and selflessness that protect the freedoms we enjoy today.
Additionally, I am pleased to share the PreK–12 Fine and Performing Arts Newsletter with our school community. The District is fortunate to have such a talented and dedicated team of educators whose passion and expertise nurture students’ artistic growth and creativity. Respectfully,
