NEDP Frequently Asked Questions

February and April vacation week programs will be offered if there is enough enrollment and staffing. If we do decide to run a program it will be located at one of the elementary schools for all four NEDP programs to utilize, Tuesday - Friday 8:30am-5:30pm.

NEDP (Northborough Extended Day Programs) provides before and after school child care for school – aged children in grades K-5 in the Northborough school district. The various organized educator led as well as child initiated activities meet each child’s need for recreation, cultural enrichment, cooperative play and social learning.

NEDP programs are located in each of the four elementary schools (Lincoln Street, Peaslee, Proctor and Zeh schools) and utilize the cafeteria, gymnasium and outdoor play areas for programming.

Before School Care (presently in operation at Lincoln Street and Peaslee School) is open from 7:00 a.m. until school begins.
Extended Day Care begins at the dismissal of school until 6:00 p.m.

NEDP is licensed by the Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care (EEC).

NEDP staff members meet EEC regulation requirements to work with children in school-aged settings. They are mature, highly trained and chosen for their experience, creativity and sensitivity to the needs of children. Our staff attends to each child’s individual needs, leads and facilitates activities that promote their physical, emotional and social growth. All staff are required to participate in the EEC required background record check policy.

The ratios determined by DESE/EEC are 13 children to 1 staff.

Yes, there is an annual NEDP OPEN HOUSE scheduled for the day before school starts from 4-5:30 at each school's cafeteria. You may also contact the administrative office to schedule a time to visit NEDP while in session (508) 393-7020. Usually the best time to visit is anytime after 4pm during the school year.
