We want to update you with exciting news about universal free school meals. The Commonwealth of Massachusetts has decided to extend free school meals for all students through the 2023-2024 school year! This means that lunch and breakfast at some schools will continue to be served at no cost to all students.
The District does not provide summer meals.
Families in need of support this summer are encouraged to contact Project Bread hotline - 1-800-645-8333. They will connect with a variety of local summer food options.
Families are encouraged to create or update their MySchoolBucks account. Students must maintain a positive balance on their account for second meals or a la carte items. Students can not purchase snacks, second meals, or other a la carte items without a positive balance. The parent/guardian is responsible for keeping the accounts in good standing. Please contact your school’s cafeteria manager for more information about offerings and MySchoolBucks.
Families needing support are encouraged to apply to the Department of Transition Assistance (DTA). This will help families in need both inside and outside of school - https://dtaconnect.eohhs.mass.gov/
If you are unsure of whether your family will qualify for support, please contact Project Bread hotline - 1-800-645-8333. They will help you with the application process.
