Informational Update: Northborough Police Department Press Release

Posted Date: 02/27/26 (08:45 AM)

Dear Parent(s) and Guardian(s),

The District was made aware of an arrest by the Northborough Police Department in the Northborough community early morning, Thursday, February 26, 2026.

According to the public statement released by the police, an adult male was arrested and charged following a traffic stop in the early morning hours of February 25. A Northborough student was located in the vehicle. Police reported that the student and the individual were known to one another but not related, and that the student had left home without parental knowledge. The individual has been charged and is scheduled to be arraigned in court. The matter remains under investigation by local law enforcement.

First and most importantly, the student is safe. There was no incident on school grounds, and at no time was there a threat to any of our schools.

I understand that news like this can be unsettling. Please know that we remain in close communication with the Northborough Police Department and will continue to partner with them to ensure the safety and well-being of our students. I want to thank our local officers for their vigilance and professionalism. If you have information related to the arrest, please contact the Northborough Police Department directly.

Events like this serve as an important reminder of the role we play in keeping children safe. I encourage families to continue having age-appropriate conversations with their children about:

  • Safe decision-making

  • Digital communication and online interactions
The importance of keeping parents/guardians informed of their whereabouts

  • Reaching out to a trusted adult if something does not feel right

As always, our priority is the safety, belonging, and well-being of every student. Thank you for your continued partnership.

Respectfully,

Gregory L. Martineau
Superintendent

Northborough Police Arrest and Charge Hudson Man with Kidnapping

NORTHBOROUGH – Police Chief Brian Griffin reports that the Northborough Police Department arrested and charged a man with kidnapping.

JASON HORES, AGE 23, of HUDSON, was arrested and charged with kidnapping.

On Wednesday, Feb. 25, at approximately 1:30 a.m., Northborough Police operating in the area of West Main Street observed a car with defective equipment and initiated a routine traffic stop.

While talking with the driver, identified as HORES, officers observed a 13-year-old juvenile from Northborough in the passenger seat.

A preliminary investigation determined that the two parties were known to each other but not related. It was also determined that the juvenile had left the home of their own accord, without parental knowledge.

On Feb. 26, Northborough Police executed an arrest warrant for HORES with assistance from Hudson Police.

HORES is scheduled to be arraigned in Westborough District Court on Thursday, Feb. 26.

The incident remains under investigation by Northborough Police.

"I would like to thank Officer Ryan Clark, who pursued this investigation following a routine traffic stop," said Chief Griffin. "Officer Clark utilized his police training and immediately knew something was not right. His dedication to the safety of our residents does not go unnoticed."
