The Public Schools of Northborough and Southborough

Ten Schools, Three Districts, One Community of Learners

Fourth – Eighth Grade

Our Neary site offers care for our 4th - 8th graders. Trottier students are welcome to walk down or take the bus from Trottier to Neary. With our Neary crew being a bit older, we like to offer more open ended projects and offer more independence to our students. We do offer snacktivities and the ability to use tools for activities that may not have been available to them in the past (with appropriate supervision of course.) And don't fret parents, we know that the homework load only grows with age so we continue to offer dedicated homework time for our students.

Trottier Students

While the program operates out of the Neary cafeteria, our Trottier students are free to walk or take bus 12 down to Neary from Trottier after school or any after-school activities.

Pick-up Procedure

  • Our Neary program operates from the final bell at school until 6:00 p.m. We run SEDP out of the cafeteria, which is around the back of the school.
  • For pickup, use the Remind app or simply ring the doorbell on the yellow SEDP door.
  • Please make sure anyone picking up has a photo I.D.

Neary After School Schedule

2:30/2:45 – Trottier students arrive and are checked in.

3:00 – Neary kids arrive, check-in and wash hands for snack.

3:10 – Kids have snack, provided by SEDP. We offer 2-3 choices as well as juice.

3:30 –  Recess/Homework time. After snack kids will choose to do homework or play outside or in the gym (weather permitting.) During this time, staff will be available to assist with homework. We ask you to talk to your kids about your expectations surrounding homework. If the child tells us that they do not have homework, we will believe them.

4:00 - 4:45/5:00 – Project/Outside play.

4:45/5:00 - 5:45 – Freeplay/Outside play.

While SEDP knows that there are a multitude of things that affect pick-up times, you know what your child enjoys and what they would be missing. Planning pick-up accordingly makes for an easier transition when going home.

To report any absenses, late pick-up or a change in schedule please inform SEDP through text, call or the Remind app as well as informing the office at your childs school.
