Dear Parent(s) and Guardian(s):

What a great week! Our educators and principals across our seven elementary schools were excited to welcome back our elementary students to five-days of in-person learning. I had a chance to check-in with several students today, and overall, they said it was a great week and great to be back full-time. I will note that there were a couple of dissenting opinions, and a few students shared that it was a long week, and they were glad it was Friday. Overall, returning our elementary students was an essential step toward the goal of returning all students kindergarten through grade twelve to five-days of in-person learning. I have included a few photos that the principal shared with me.

As we increase in-person learning, I want to reemphasize the District’s COVID-19 Pooled Screening Program’s importance. Having your child participate in the screening program will help:

  1. Our schools remain open to in-person learning

  2. Monitor the COVID-19 landscape in our schools

  3. Add a mitigation layer

  4. Potentially prevent students who are COVID-19 positive from entering our schools

I’m pleased to share that student participation in the pooled COVID-19 Screening Program has increased. We need families’ support and help to achieve the participation target of 80% participation in each of our schools. Sign-up Link: NSBORO COVID-19 Pooled Screening Program.
